The Hiygienists team at Nart Dental Clinic wins the 1st prize in the Category of Scientific Communications in Poster Format for Hygienists in SEPA 2018.
Within the 59th Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Periodontology and Osseointegration (SEPA) in Seville, the hygienists of Nart Dental Clinic Barcelona competed for the award for the best scientific communication within its category. Fifteen were selected finalists. The theme of the Poster was about the treatment of peri-implantitis and specifically about the conservative protocol without surgery used in Nart Dental Clinic to treat it.

Periimplantitis, an infection of dental implants caused by bacteria and located in the gum and bone around them, and affects one in four or five patients with implants and its treatment is complex, often being ineffective. The treatment of periimplantitis at Nart Dental Clinic in Barcelona is quick, inexpensive, without surgery and requires the cooperation of the patient, with excellent oral hygiene around the teeth, prostheses, on implants. The current instruments allow to decontaminate and clean the implants in a more effective and much less morbid way. The evaluation jury evaluated the treatment protocol very positively, the promising results after applying this technique and the excellent defense of the hygienist Sara Jiménez Garrido, the first author of the scientific work.
